When I was invited to write reviews for http://www.movieboozer.com, I put a lot of thought into what movie I would write about first. I looked over their list of movies already talked about and Harry Potter came to mind. It was one of the best family evenings we had spent together and I bow to Rowling for her vision, her insight, and her ability to get my sons to read a book! I am thankful for the opportunity to not only share my views, but to relive that night and the time my kids really exercised their imaginations.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Review
My kids are older now. Yes, one is even off to college. But I feel so…deflated. I don’t feel like I have made much of an impact on them as far as traditions. So, I went on the hunt for some from waaay back when.
It was very interesting, the things I found out…
Take a look for yourself? What traditions do you practice and which would you like to adopt?
As a girl, I loved to dress up and just play. Act out whatever I wanted. Today, I am a writer and have a very creative mind.
When I had kids, I incorporated a costume box into our household. Needless to say, my sons are all very creative kids. I have a couple of writers, well, three out of four…and readers. A couple are very good at drawing and two love the theater.
Did I play a part in flexing their skills? I like to think so…
I can remember not so long ago when I was always filling out invites to my kids’ birthday parties. Then came the envelopes, calling everyone for their address, stamps…how I have grown to hate stamps.
Today, using social media outlets for planning events has made things so much easier…or perhaps impersonal?
What do you think?
I have four sons who are all fall and winter babies. Needless to say, we are flat broke from back-to-school until early spring.
I also grew up with a brother who has a mid-December birthday. He deserves a birthday too, right?
I think so too. As a parent, I do try to take the extra steps to make the holidays separate from all the birthdays. I don’t know how many times I was tempted to get one large gift or ask them to wait for Christmas, but in my mind, they all deserve to feel special on the day they blessed me with their special little spirits!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
I spent a lot of time writing my NaNoWriMo story, trying to get caught up!
What is the NaNo? Well, November is National novel Writing Month and it encourages you to write a novel in one month. lol
What did I do besides that? Well, photography is my other passion and I got some stellar shots of the sunset a couple of times. 🙂
So, what did you all do this past weekend? I’d love to know!
I lost a grandfather to Alzheimer’s this year. So when I write articles about it, it comes from the heart. Read it and see what you think! (It was by me, I just put my old pen name in the bio. Oops.)
